Smiles from strangers … (a tanka)

It’s an honor to have three tanka in the fall/winter 2016 issue of GUSTS, the journal of Tanka Canada and edited by Kozue Ozawa. Here is the first one:

 

 

smiles from strangers
amidst the ragged flow
of city streets —
stitching small holes
in the human heart
