Poor brown moth … (three tanka)

Three tanka published last February in the lovely journal, GUSTS:

Compliments of “Draw Botanical”

a day lily blooms
for a single day
this brevity
a wonder to some,
unsettling to others

the tighter those
fine strands pull

such soft sable brushes
wedge, round, pointed, flat
patiently waiting
to adorn my words

  1. Mary, such lovely tankas you’ve shared here, but then they are always so beautiful! My favorite is the tiger lily. It reminds me so much of the tiger lilies that grew in the rural area I grew up in.

I hope you are doing well, my friend. Hugs.
